This episode starts very strong as we see Grand Moff Tarkin descend onto Lothal and start berating the authorities who have failed to capture the rebel cell on the planet. This is a little meta in that the audience is sure to see the pattern of how many times Kanan and Co. evade capture and how incompetent Kallus and the Inquisitor are. After reading the novel "Tarkin," it is rewarding to see the character come to life in the show. Sure, we have the original actor in Episode IV, but with the novel so fresh in my mind, it seems appropriate for Tarkin to take matters into his own hands. We see how competent he is in the novel so his demands of his inferiors is expected and earned by the man.

There's also some good action sequences, good dialogue between Kanan and Ezra about taking risks, and Ezra using the Force on a Loth-cat. I don't think I've commented on using the Force on animals yet, but I really like it. It makes sense as the Force is supposed to be around every living thing, so manipulating beasts is only natural. I'm always for unique ways the Force can be used and this series is the first time I've seen this.

A few more comments: The stakes are higher in this episode, especially with Kanan being captured, Ezra's message to the people of Lothal is inspirational, and the execution of Aresko and Grint is brutal. I wish they showed it on screen like in The Clone Wars, but this is aired on Disney XD, so you could never expect that. In any case, this gives the ending of the first season some momentum as there are only two episodes left.
